Before your first session

Check that your game is updated, especially on Steam. The September 26 release update addressed a rare save-corruption issue, a save-tent display problem, camera behavior in some time trials and Steam screenshot capture. These notes describe the Steam update; they do not establish that every console received the same patch at the same time.

A practical order for learning the systems

Start by getting comfortable with the matchstick: the publisher describes it as both a light source and a combat tool. Next, explore the routes you can already reach. When an obstacle stops you, note it and return after gaining another ability. This is a suggested way to organize exploration, not a claim about a required ability order.

Keep collection and upgrades separate

Collecting a trinket, increasing your available trinket slots and upgrading a trinket are separate goals in Steam’s achievement list. Check which goal you are pursuing before searching for help. A collection milestone does not tell you where its items are, and a slot milestone does not establish an optimal equipment setup.

When something seems wrong

For a suspected bug, record your platform, game version and what happened before it. Compare that symptom with the developer’s update notes. Do not delete a save based on a generic troubleshooting tip. The official launch note contains a specific recovery procedure; make a separate backup before considering any file changes.

Choose your next guide

Use the trinket page to distinguish collection, capacity and upgrades. The boss checklist identifies achievement-linked encounters but does not prescribe a route. The achievement tracker is for completion notes and includes spoilers; save it for when you want that level of detail.
